All the actual major players (Telus, Bell, Rogers, ...) have bought AWS spectrum in the auction last year:

The thing is they have not announced any plans to use them yet...
Also, I'm not sure that using 2100 Mhz actually guarantees any compatibility as AWS uses 2 channels, 1 for up and 1 for down if my understanding is correct (but this really is an acronym soup!).
As for me, I'll use it with my 15$ a month fido account, I don't really care for 3G for now or even EDGE, I can get wifi access almost anywhere i'll need it.
