Why should they?
I can almost promise that in maximum 2 years from now, the android will dominate, and we all will want an android device, i mean come on, its google ftw!
maemo will be nice, for now. for next year, yeah maybe. but thats it. you will see.

don't get me wrong, i will develop for the n900, but thats not enough to keep up with googles android. its absurd to think that.
