Indeed, but how can you tell which, if any of them, were blocking the release?

For example, this is the release tracking bug for Fedora 12; it depends on each individual (or tracker) bug that blocks the release, and when they're all solved the release is ready. In the meantime everyone knows what the issues are and what state they're in, which allows them to contribute where they can, or at least feel informed.

the maemo summit devices were basically what you'd call RC builds.
We know there have been subsequent builds since then that Nokia didn't release to the three hundred for testing though, so what will be released to retail now won't have had the benefit of that wider testing. Given that the users of the 300 summit units found problems that Nokia didn't know about (hence the delay in the first place) it seems somewhat self-defeating to not take advantage of that testing again.
