This is very cool. MC is an excellent copy of the ancient Norton Commander. I first discovered it around the time I was using Redhat 5.1, and have continued to use it on all of my Linux servers and workstations up through the current Fedora Core 6.
FYI, when I have an improperly key-mapped SSH session, I use <esc>0 in place of <F10> if it doesn't work. The same goes for <esc>5 for <F5>, etc. Everyone who plays with the internals of Linux should check out MC and look through the Commands menu to see how many nitty gritty functions can be done more simply. With MC, Pico / Nano, and BASH, you can do all the admin you need.
