Here some more details about how MMS works.

It would be like Buying a FARRARI, and then finding out it only goes 60mph/100kph. Lets move on to getting Nokia to listen to its customers.
Get your facts straight. The N900 is not marketed as phone. Also, not every phone you ever had has MMS because MMS was rolled out for the first time in 2002. I sure hope for you the first time you owned and/or used a phone was before 2002.

The name of the brand you meant is Ferrari. Some cars which drive not even 100 kmph drive perfectly well, for example in cities. In most countries you're not allowed to drive faster than 100 kmph. Car analogies suck though, and your analogy would be better if you'd have said your hypothetic car has only GPRS instead of FM.

Sometimes less is more. Sometimes more means more expensive, later product release. If you include more, chances become it becomes lot of mediocre instead of lot of top notch. Because you have to spread your attention to various features. This is explained earlier. Including MMS would have delayed the product.

The reason all Nokia phones nowadays have MMS is because the OS (Symbian) has this support included from the start while Maemo has not. This is because Maemo is new in the GSM/GPRS market. iPhoneOS had the very same problem.
