I was just reading up on this subject recently. NASA doesn't currently have the capability of accurately tracking every threatening object. I doubt other space agencies do either. Apparently we will have less than a half hour's notice for many objects that could do extreme damage... especially once we get into the thick of the Taurids in a few decades.

Ouch.
