The HTC announcement was similar. I bet you won't find thousands of posts on forums related to those products with people saying "Oh I just rang up Newegg and they said [X] but Amazon said [Y]" and "Damn my order date got moved back again". They just announced when it would be and hit the date, no problems at all.
