Den in the USA - not so much Skype as Psychic. I was coming here this evening to start a basic thread asking my 'bear of very little brain' questions about skype!!! And here you have already answered most of them.

I have a skype account. I've had it about 2 months after my uni tutor pointed out to me that trying to do my thesis without talking to him was not going to be possible. (Mind, when he talked to me he he said my thesis was impossible any way, so I might have been better off without!)

And then someone invited me to go to Barcelona... and now I have family saying 'you will keep in touch and let us know you're ok, won't you?' Except my family are not technological, to say the least.

So question one was 'how do I pay for a skype credit account?' - I can do that by paypal - perfect.

Question two was about using skype over wifi (I'm assuming the Barcelona event will have wifi at the conference centre!) - that should be free at the skype-wifi end, yes?

How much (approximately) does it cost at the non-skype end? Does it cost more depending on where you are calling from? My assumption is that if I use skype to call my Uncle it should cost the same whether I'm calling from 2 miles up the road or from Spain, as the non-Skype component of the call is the same regardless... is that right? (yes, I know I'd use free minutes from my plan or call landline free after 6pm if I was here, but in theory!)
