I just chatted online with a rep at the nokiausa.com store, and was told that the N900 was available for immediate delivery, and that if ordered right now, it would ship out within 24 hours. My question is this...if they are shipping "new" orders this fast at this point, does this mean that ALL of the the preorders have been filled?? From reading on this forum, it doesn't seem like any of them have been filled. Also, I asked the question of price matching to other sites that are selling the n900. He said nokia.com doesn't pricematch, and that they (and their authorized retailers) were the only one's shipping the phone at this point. I asked "who are your authorized retailers in the US?", to which he replied "dell.com and buy.com". I said "so these retailers can ship now?", and he replied "yes". I asked "what about amazon.com?" and his reply was "they will not be allowed to ship unitl the end of the month. Only nokia.com and it's authorized retailers will be shipping this product now". This reps info seems to go along with what I've been reading is happening in the forums. I wish I had just copied and pasted the chat session into the forums here, but I've quoted it as stated. Thought this might be info you guys wanted to see.
