After my chat with Nokia (USA), I decided to call. This won't come as a surprise to most of you but he said that while they have the Nokia N900 in stock it is still considered a pre-order. He told me that they have started shipping pre-orders. I asked whether I would get the N900 by Monday if I ordered today, and he told me that he thought I would, but they only have 800 units in stock, so if they run out during the pre-orders I will have to wait for the next batch. This story is starting to become more clear. I think that very few N900's shipped in the first batch and that is why we are only hearing confirmations of shipping and delivery from a few people. But how dumb is it to send out a couple thousand units in the first batch when you know there are tens of thousands on pre-order. That will just make early adopters angry and frustrated that they didn't get their's before the retail stores.
