You made some good points in your post, but the statement I quote above is incorrect. Remember, the N900 is targeted at early adopters, gearheads, and most importantly, developers! The N900 is better than other devices for that group. It leverages technologies that most open source desktop developers are already familiar with. Open source developers are going to find themselves irresistibly attracted to this device because of that. Early adopters and gearheads are going to reap the rewards of that. I too wouldn't recommend the N900 to my non-geek friends. Just yesterday I encouraged one of them to get the Droid. But for geeks, the N900 is the bomb!
