Worst consumer experience.
I just had that exact same experience (but without the amazon bit, because in Canada we can't buy an n900 from amazon). Had three different people try to complete the transaction and each one failed.

I was really hoping to get one before I head back to England for christmas, but that's not looking so likely now.

I'm starting to feel like Nokia doesn't actually want the n900 in the hands of it's evangelists (obviously they do, but this is just what it's starting to feel like). End rant.
