well, i waited ages for concrete release info, have ignored the criticism of MPD and nokia (and the fact the phone has a resistive screen) and have fallen hook, line and sinker for this 'dec 3rd' figure, ordering with MPD, voda contract, 18 months.
have just (nearly) completed 18 months with an orange BB contract, but at least there were some software updates to make it
feel
a bit newer in that time. hopefully the adaptability of the n900 will make the timeframe bearable (and i'll be able to get through every SNES game i've never played). plus i want to be in a position to upgrade to a maemo 6 device if the n900 turns out not to be compatible. worked out better value than the 24 month too.
one thing i don't get is these people who add up the contract costs (including unltd web and text), come out with a figure bigger than the sim-free cost and decide it's better value. am i missing something?
fingers crossed either way. as long as it comes before xmas i don't really care.
