The code is exactly the same between Ubuntu, Maemo 4.1, and Maemo 5, it just auto-detects at start up what features are and are not supported. I actually do all of my development and most of my testing on Ubuntu

So Texrat is right that it is best to keep these threads the same because its 99% of the time the same discussion.
