I also moved to N900 from N97. The N900 is way more powerful, much better screen and speed, but it is a mobile computer (with a phone) and does not have all "smartphone" features. But it does make up for it in computing features for me... The N900 is so cool, and future potential exciting!

Everyone has to decide for themselves. The N900 is a not consumer-level smartphone. It is a mobile computer with phone features, because Maemo is not yet ready to be a smartphone.
