well, take a look at this mate, Maemo5 is only recently announced which still very incomplete comparing it to OSX. My point is, they still can make money from new devices as long they keep their old device up to date with the latest technology. Since maemo5 is linux based, I dont see why It can't handle maemo 6? What you're saying is you are buying a laptop running on windows XP or vista 6 months ago and then you buy another one that run windows 7 now? with the same bloody hardware spec (well slightly faster). I'm saying since, maemo 5 is OpenSource then why limted it to just maemo5 when maemo6 is based on a very similar code and approach? I don't see what is the big hick up with Nokia not porting it to N900s. We are the consumer and we do not like to see what we buy now will be un-upgradable in this sort of time. It is great that Maemo 6 supporting maemo 5 apps but we do want our N900 to run maemo 6 too. Via OS upgrade just like YDL 6.0 -> YDL 6.1 -> YDL 6.2 on PS3. Take a look at Iphone 3G and 3GS lol they allowing a new OS upgrade to the latest software. Why can't NOKIA follow Apple success? I believe if they do let N900 to run maemo6, there will be more happy customers and more people going for Nokia instead of Iphone 3GS in USA.
