Do you expect avi files just magically appear into existence? Are they maybe born somewhere

Why is it so difficult to understand: N900 opens AVI files, but may not necessary be able to decode the contents of it.

This thread is multiple pages long because some readers refuse to understand that the problem/question is not do AVI files play or not, but does N900 come with every possible codec in existence and does it have the horsepower to tolerate stupid and faulty encodes.

For which the answer is no.
