Medium does help, but it seems a lot of people are having this problem. I have also been communicating with others and the weak 2G performance in low "one bar" areas. It is a relief to know I am not the only one.

I think Nokia adjusted the radios down on the N900 to offset for the 1320mah battery in such a feature demanding device. Flash alone, is a battery drainer. Just wish we could apply the same mW increase to the GPRS, but I appreciate attenuation and other factors make this a more complex issue than wifi.
