I had a GPS problem on my n900 out of the box. I think I disabled it, reboot, then enabled it and its been working fine since.

Looking at these poll results it can't be hardware related. At least it's unlikely that either Nokia made so many faulty units, or the GPS was badly implemented. I suspect its software related.
