Just for kicks I made a small (yes, useless ) stat graph generator, so all you app count addicts can track progress... It's an experimental page so don't abuse/spread/rely on the url too much. I'm in no relation with Nokia or the maemo.org team, nor have access to official data sources, so take all numbers with a lump of salt. The bottom axis labeling is bogus, pay no attention to it.

Last month:

Yearly:

Devel is different in terms it show per day activity (e.g. a value of 20 means 20 apps have been uploaded successfully into extras-devel THAT DAY), as the simple total count is pretty meaningless.

I have not integrated all data sources, so diablo extras is not present and I'm not sure I can retroactively scavange Fremantle-extras stats before Nov 15, but I don't think it's all that important...

I'm thinking about adding new app notifications into a client-side application (so you get something like the blinking '!' for apps of a specified profile, say, when a new game appears, etc), but that would require either polling package lists (speed+cost problem) or sending a list of installed packages to the server (privacy problem).

EDIT: Yes, embarrasingly enough I actually forgot to include the urls in a human form:

http://app.cache.rs/repostat/line?stay=1 (monthly)
http://app.cache.rs/repostat/line?scale=y&stay=1 (yearly)

EDIT2: Yes, it's dynamic. Both the images and the links above reflect automatically updated data (=it's not a one-time stat).
