My impression is that the problems I faced with N900 are not hardware related but software related. (indeed there is no reset button and battery removal does not help) Maemo is just not ready for the tough job that there is to do. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the starting point here was Linux. Nokia problem is in converting Linux to a next dimension thought it was build up by a very large group of very dedicated persons to start with (and having less dedication to documentation). There seems to be a strong faith that Nokia can do some miracles by themselves in a much shorter time than Linux was created. The final conclusion is that most of the N900 applications and desktop are slow & lacking too many useful features, SW lacks stability and design is actually bulky. If you are keen to wait for SW updates that might come within 2- 12 months or so - go ahead. I know that being a test user can also be interesting.
