My reasons for waiting to buy it around Xmas:
  1. For me, the current price is only justified by an occasion for a treat.
  2. I want to know that most software hiccups have been either cured, or are well known, so that I can deal with them.
  3. I was disappointed with the smaller screen size and low-res tv out. That doesn't necessarily change the game for me, but keeps me thinking about alternatives (Archos, umid M2).
