The iPhone only gives me an icon grid that made by brain die of boredom after 3 weeks, even with the various iconsets and themes you can install. This means that I actually have to open the weather app to get the weather, I need to open the the RSS app to get the feed and I need to open whatever Facebook app the iPhone has in order to do anything.. With the iPhone, you have to get the information you want, while with Maemo and Android, the information is presented to you in whatever manner you want. A proper desktop is probably one of the most important interface features on a (touch screen) device today. The iPhone has fallen behind on that area and in my opinion, it seriously cripples the user experience because of it.
