Yes, I am also still convinced the core of this issue lies in faulty hardware. Basically, not letting device to go to "deep sleep" prevent reboots, which points out there *might* be a fault in hardware component that is responsible for that. Of course, that is just my speculation, but generally we are getting quite close to narrow this problem down, however on the other hand it doesn't mean for sure if that's hard- or software issue yet. My bet is on hardware, but I might be well wrong.

In fact, I have received Returns Authorisation Number from retailer where I bought my device (MPD UK), so I can now proceed with warranty replacement, however I might hold this for another day or two in order to help out clearing this problem up.
