I also find it stupid. I like to use hands- free but when you need to write sms it is impossible because headphone jack is sticking out. Try to type sms or play game that require keyboard, while charging the phone and using hands-free. That's F impossible. i think designers were F drunk or they are ******ed. Ok if you did something like that give us bended usb plug-in and bended headphone jack. I am trying to find some kind of bended connectors, nothing yet.
