problem solved, basing on info from another thread

Application manager > Tools > Log

Log shows troubled application catalogues/ repositories

Application manager > Tools > Application catalogue
lists all repositories

Select troubled catalogue/ repository > Details > tick to Disable > OK

And installable applications finally refreshed, showing current date.

2 years ago the problem was much more complicated and I have had to
edit file with repositories to remove wrong code
downloaded via WiFi.
