It may be excellent as that kind of learning tool, especially if you want to learn to think in a brute-force, mechanical way, but if you want to learn from the games of humans by playing through their games, it is impossible. The programmer would have been creating a more useful game if he hadn't bothered to make it play chess at all, just display games. But I've never been a fan of computer chess...
