Hmmm, the guy in worthing vodafone shop seemed to think the ones they are getting will be unlocked. - but then he wasnt getting them till after xmas/jan time. So lots of things can change in that time

And for us who have them, nothing - hehe, we are special - i'm 99% sure they can't lock them remotely (Without sending us codes, which i think we could ignore) - so really, we are fine - i'm sure a nice dev person could let us know? - anyway it's open source'ish - surely there ocould be an app to sort that out (Oh good, look at me going all Igeek!)
