Yes, I was referring to the 10th April post
IMHO releasing the sources is the only way forward... or at least the only way that will (partially or totally) redeem Nokia from their insane handling of the 770 situation. Just my 2c...
*edit*
My "hypocrisy" point was in reference to the fact that, well, looking at the situation as objectively as I possibly can at the moment, I cannot agree that Nokia are supporting the Open Source movement in the true spirit of open source. IMO they used the open source excuse to rope in some of the more talented devlopers, in order to get the IT platform off the ground. As someone said in reply to one of Dr Jaaksi's blogs, Nokia just keep shooting themselves in the foot over this issue: they are releasing sub-standard software (which annoys part of the target market, the people who like "closed" devices) and expect the open source developers to fill in the gaps (something which annoys the same part of the target market--the people who are pretty much against "open" devices) without giving developers the freedom to "take over" the device, thus irritating what is possibly the device's most hardcore fan base, the open source advocates. And then expecting everyone to believe that it is not possible to build OS2007 (officially) for the 770, because that hardware is too old. Truly the Open Source spirit indeed. Try saying that to my Pentium 133 (!) Linux box running one of the latest kernels. Way to go Nokia.
