Thanks for your response. The back of the thumb problem is of scenario 2 of my original post, where the phone is supported partially on its bottom right corner with my palm and partially with my whole thumb (not just the tip) is leaning against the screen vertically and the pinky, the ring and middle fingers from the other side while the index finger is taking the shot. If you notice the touchable portion of the screen is about a centimeter from the right edge. The problem is in order for your curled index to reach the shutter, your vertical thumb can't be leaned against in the dead 1 cm wide border, but has to come inside the touchable screen. If it's hard to vision as I explained it I will take a picture and upload it. Thanks again for trying to reproduce it.
