Personally I don't mind the one or the other. What pisses me off is the lack of reliable information.

What's so hard about a little press release or a blog post somewhere saying "People, the update is coming, we can't make our original estimate because some bug came up that will kill your device cold. We're trying to fix it, but you all know how software is, when it decides to be a pain in the rear, then it's just that. We'll keep you posted on progress. Until then hang in there..."

To write that costs 3 Minutes, and it gets rid of all the frustration and the speculation. But no, let's rather be silent, that way the competition might not get confirmation of our schedule...
