yeah h.264 support seems to be very limited. I haven't had much luck with it. From what I understand, if you use ONLY the base profile it should work..but at that point you're usually better off with plain mpeg4 anyway. I've gotten my h.264 files to play with mplayer, but of course that isn't hardware accelerated so the performance is pretty bad.
