Trying from a different pc this morning (XP instead fof vista, but slow and clunky).

D/led handbrake and installed. Added the presets from the wiki. Inserted DVD.

Loooong slow wait for scan... then thump: according the THIS computer, it can't handle the DVD becuase of the copy protection.

Did wonder in the middle of the night whether the region settings, and whether it's PAL or NTSC make any difference... is handbrake primarily intended for the US market?

Edit: now trying with a dvd I KNOW is not copy-protected.
