I don't have it either...and I doubt those are dead pixel: they would not show on a screenshot.

Maybe the icon cache got corrupted ? You can run

Code:

  gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor

as root into an x-terminal to see if it fixes this issue.
