usb data cable is quite easy to go in and out but charger plug is bit different and you have to pull it fair bit harder to get it out.
bit frustrating to have to do modifications like this on item that i didn't get from reject shop
The plug for my Motorola Q has smaller "top" pins...you may want to look at altenatives before hacking up your OEM eq.

FWIW, "nothing is supposed to wiggle". If its wiggling, then the metal part of the port, in the pic from the OP, the "crimped", not soldered, band is coming apart. Once that comes apart/loose, then the black plastic "tounge" of the port will start to float around inside. Then the connectors to the circuit board will come loose...they are not "soldered" but "glued" to the board. Very, very fragile assembly. If you "wiggle" your plug loose, you're asking for trouble. Only the (4) smaller mounting points are soldered, and not very heavily. The (2) larger red squares (again from the pic) are "epoxied/glued", again, not very heavily.

This from someone who had the same thing happen after (2) charges. My 900 was ordered from newegg.com (USA) on Dec. 9th, after they ran out of stock 2-3 times.

I've started trying to get my fingernails between the plug and the phone's casing, and "wedge" it out.
