yep i got a blank txt from spain new years day morning(sent to my iphone)- because my sis sent me a mms from spain
There are hundreds (thousands even?) of operators, and MMS is configured by operators. I know that some operators have poor quality, but that is not only SMS, it is also regarding data and international roaming. The larger ones, the ones that own and run the hardware, are much better than the smaller "cheaper" ones.

I have sent/received MMS from all over Europe for the last 5 years at least, with no problems.
