Anyway I've read on the developer forum that maybe there is a fix for the usb host mode. But it's pretty sure that the N900 will not be capable of supplying enough power for a connected peripheral, so even if it's possible to turn the host mode on, the peripheral will need an external power (and even worse maybe a wire manipulation to activate the host mode)
