Based on your home network and country settings, the N900 email setup client queries a Nokia server to check the available email service settings available to you. I have noticed that the Nokia Messaging settings in particular have gone ON, OFF, then ON in the USA. Maybe other places as well. Once you have it set up, you are good, even if the setting change on the server. But if you have to reinstall, then you have a problem. I understand this is done so Nokia does not 'compete' with email offerings from current or potential operator partners.
