Just to get back to a previous point, the applications that are available are orders of magnitude more important than the hardware. Google spent the money to develop Google Pinyin, Nokia didn't spend the money to develop anything similar that I have heard about. Therefore the Nexus will have an advantage in China that Nokia could have easily prevented if they had spent more money on N900 and Maemo. The same can be said for every function that Nokia didn't bother to develop.

When Nokia just had to worry about fart apps on the iPhone, they could afford to take this approach. But unless Nokia starts taking Android seriously and starts committing more resources to the N900/Maemo effort, they will be left behind.
