Yeah, this was what I was trying to refer to earlier about the chip range. Did a bit of searching and found this about the N900 FM radio transmitter.

It says that the chip used for FM Radio Transmitter has a range of 76-108MHz. There could be more free frequencies at the lower range and this could help those that live in areas where the range is pretty much full.
