"When Nokia just had to worry about fart apps on the iPhone, they could afford to take this approach. But unless Nokia starts taking Android seriously and starts committing more resources to the N900/Maemo effort, they will be left behind."

not sure if that makes sense

nokia has taken ipnone seriously , they will be the first to tell you, the n900 has copied the front of the iphone completly, nokia reps are all making cklaims that its not about apps when you have a full browser that has flash- the internet can do the apps without paying and installing.(this was there marketing stance), what ever anyone says about them saying its not a phone isnt the case at all.

and secondly iphone has the seductive draw and that is going no where- as some as the new iphone comes out- i will have it, and so will many. its iconic- i understand there is alot of bias on these boards against iphone, but you have to sometimes look at the truths.

the proof behind why nokia has taken apple seriously is in your hands (the n900)- if it wasnt for apple it probally wouldnt have been a phone and maemo 5 would have been as user friendly.

android is covering the middle end and trying to breach into the high end- that was palm/iphone/winmo etc.

nokia still has the bottom end and the market share of the middle.

they are going for the top end with this n900(its a protype in reality just like the iphone- i had every other ipod- but could never buy a iphone without 3g- so kept on to my n95)- offcourse as soon as it did come out with 3g i bought it- this time i just took the plunge with the n900 even tho it has flaws like the orioginal iphone- but that is mainly because i really didnt want the 3gs- its amazing to think that i had a phone for 2 years and at the end to get a better one it would be the 3gs- wich in reality is hardly any different from the 3g. this proves how advanced apple are- the android isnt there yet either
