Let me give you this to consider: What if the bubbles you saw did not come from a second screen protector (which, granted, is always possible: a shift switch at the wrong moment might result in a N800 with two screen protectors), but did in fact come from you pulling loose the N800's digitizer? I don't know what the N800's digitizer looks like (I do know that Newtons have a double plastic layer setup) and neither (I surmise) do you. If my worst-case scenario holds out, you might be in big trouble down the line...
