Specs are in my sig... fair trade I think for 8gb iPod Touch. I know this is kind of heretical and I do love Maemo and have been happy with the tablet, but I feel like my demands of it are more accessible on the iPod Touch. Basically the amount of apps and variety compared to the Maemo scene is what is intriguing me, in addition to snappier media playback - I love Canola but it's a bit slow to use. Also the amount of iPod accessories, such as an inline controller to attach headphones to so I can change the tracks, etc. - nothing like that on the N800, I have to pull it out of my pocket which can be a risk of dropping it... these little micro-hassles I don't want to deal with anymore.
First I have some questions though.
Maemo Mapper is important to me, so I need something that would be a good alternative on the iPod. I need to be able to save tiles, I use these for photo trips. At the least I need to be able to drag around a hi-res JPG (I could screenshot from Bing maps) at least 1600 x 1200.
I know there are some sacrifices going from N8x0 to iPod but there are some advantages that I think I'm ready for, mostly with media and sheer app availability.
So if anyone is interested, please let me know. I'm currently looking at the apps I need at the App Store, to see if it's worth it.
Included with my N800 is:
- a Dell PDA case
- original stylus + a thin metal stylus from my old Dell PDA which actually fits in the N800
- 2 GB internal flash card, 8 GB external flash card
- Nokia headset/earbuds... I think I have the original box and stuff too but I wll check...
- charger
- USB cable
I paid $120 for the tablet (demo unit on eBay, it's flawless but of course there it has been used by me), the 8 GB card was like $50, 2 GB card maybe $15, so altogether
$185
.
that's all I can think of. This would be a domestic (USA) trade.
