To borrow a line from a song that was popular in his youth, my dad is hip he knows what cooks. He could use an in car navigator. He is also an avid conservationist and has a mountain retreat that is as isolated as Walden Pond once was. He would love the topographic maps and satellite imagery that Maemo Mapper would give him but as a replacement for a Tom Tom or Garmin unit on the road, M/M can’t compete as it was not designed to.

I would like to give him an N800 with the NavKit so he can have the best of both worlds. His background and imagination could also come up with uses for the N800 that I haven’t even dreamed of yet but here is the rub... No one at the Nokia’s USA customer service center or any of their US flagship stores has one or can tell me when it will be available.

Does anyone in Irvington know or will I just kill some more time waiting on hold?
