Hi There all,
I am new to this (first post) so sorry if i am not too clear.
The issue i have is with the calender function provided as standard with the N900 and birth dates:
I have a contact in my N900 whose birthday is 14 November 1959 - this date is set as birthdate in their details in 'contacts' area of the phone.
As you all know in the calender a little 'birthday cake' icon is displayed on the date of peoples birthdays (whose D.O.B is set within the contacts details in phonebook)
Now within the calender it is bringing up the above mentioned persons birthday on 'saturday 13th November 2010' ... why when the date set in contacts is 14th November???
I did a little more testing and assertained the following
Set contacts DOB to 14th November 1970 (or a lesser year) and birthday appears in calender on the 13th November (INCORRECT)
Set contacts DOB to 14th November 1971 (or a higher year) and birthday appears in calender on the 14th November(CORRECT)
Its not a problem with the actual contact because i changed a different contacts date of birth with the above date examples and the issue was replicated.
I have also tried setting a contacts date of birth as a different date with the year as less than 1970 but it appears correctly in the calender so it appears to be an issue only with the date 14th November (but i did not try with all 365 days so maybe there are other dates out there that have the same issue).
Firstly I would like someone out there to just try changing a contacts date of birth to 14th November 1970 and checking calender to see if birthday is displayed on the 13th or 14th November 2010 to see if it is an issue with my phone or a widespread issue.
Quite a bad one i reckon as there could be a few divorce's (or even murders) if your wife's birthday is missed or you turn up a day early with a bunch of flowers singing happy birthday tooooo mom!
ps. I have considered, and will implement the obvious 'fix' of changing all my contacts birth date years to 2009 but thats not the way it was meant to be used and its nice to see someones birthday coming up and to be-able to work out the persons age so you can buy a card thats for those special years ... 40th, 50th, 60th etc etc
Thanks all, and I look forward to hearing your responses.
