Huh? How exactly are you, me, or even the super-god of computers going to help someone that has no root, and no way to install rootsh? The only solution at that point is reflash. That's it.. no other options. (Assuming the removal of Red Pill)

Also.. you frequently refer to teach to combat everyone else saying Learn..

1==1 here... You must be taught to learn.

So yes.. people will say "do this".. but many times the user will need even more information than that. See the thread that Kathy linked to, again as an example - several times it was said "it's in this", "it's in that".. and also the general "idea" of what needed to be done was in another thread.. but the OP needs Step by Step.

So in your example:

"sudo gainroot (you need rootsh to get root)"
User: "wait, what? Whats rootsh? where do I get it?"

Then the process goes through of teaching them how to get rootsh. Also, mostly, accompanied by a warning too. Same logic applies anywhere.. when people tell other people to do potentially harmful things they usually caveat it.. some users listen, others don't. The number of users willing to type commands is significantly less than the number of users willing to click GUI's.

That's why I am ok with losing GUI tools to do advanced work... what I'm not OK with is the loss of a functionality. Removing Red Pill at this point does remove 1 specific functionality in a very specific case - and it's a case that *has* happened, so it's not a hypothetical case either. The only question would remain is how *often* it would happen, and whether it's even worth worrying about.
