Glad you found a solution. The proxy I've written does not consistently work with all sites and I don't have the strength to sit down and figure out the different talking protocols sites are using so I can make sure my socket is listening or sending depending.

It works with sites like amazon.com and google.com great, but doesn't work on sites like store.ovi.com. I was writing it on the socket level (reinventing the wheel basically) so it could run on the N900 without need of perl modules. If I get any further I'll publish the results.

If you don't know how to check your N900's uptime, you probably shouldn't own it.
