It isn't simply an issue of "loot"-- trusted people who get devices early (and possibly free, which can help those like myself who can't afford to buy one) can provide critical input to the program teams to improve the product(s) prior to wide release. THAT benefits everyone... and it's important to get devices into the hands of people who have proven they will use the privilege wisely. We'll ignore little incidents like usb connectors popping out. So define the benefit(s). Are we back to ego boosting? Or is it all about loot?
