Sounds more like it provides parallax, not "3D." That said, parallax adds a huge amount of depth to a 2D image (check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw by Johnny Chung Lee, freaking awesome) and if Apple can do it, I'm sure it could be done on the N900.

What -value- that would provide is wholly debatable, however. Be an awesome project, too bad my opengl skills suck
