@starman yes, it's annoying, not only because it's a different app, but vlc and mplayer don't use the gpu to play files, hence some of my higher bitrate x264 encodes drop a lot of frames.

as for the fix, guess we'll have to wait and see and don't fret about the iphone-toting colleagues
